Update: What’s Open in Coronado

As Coronado continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation, there are new adjustments to what’s open in Coronado. This includes restaurants, beaches, parks, and more! Here are the new guidelines for opening up Coronado businesses.

Face Masks

First, face masks are not required for walking outside, running, or other socially-distanced activities. But if you’ll be within 6 feed of others while you’re enjoying what’s open in Coronado, you’ll need a face covering. Children under the age of 2 are not required to wear any masks.

Beaches

The Coronado beaches are now open from 6am to 6pm daily. The beach is open to swimming, surfing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. You can also walk or run along the beach. Beginning June 2, the beaches will be open for passive use. You can relax on towels or chairs with members of your household. Social distancing and sanitization measures still need to be maintained.

Golf Courses

The Coronado golf course is currently open! All golfers are required to make a reservation for their tee time prior to arriving. You can call 619-522-6590 to make reservations. Currently, bag stands are unavailable and cashless transactions must be made through a service window. Golf carts are now available and lo longer limited to one golfer per cart.

Parks

Parks are also open in Coronado, with restrictions. Similar to the beaches, the parks are not allowing loitering or groups at this time. Walking, running, and cycling through the parks is allowed, so you can get out and exercise while surrounded by Coronado’s beauty!

Restaurants

Many restaurants have been open in Coronado for takeout and delivery. Now restaurants are allowed to open for dine-in services as well. Restaurants allowing dine-in will be operating at a limited capacity in order to adhere to social distancing requirements. Tables will be placed 6 feet apart and patrons must wear masks when not seated. No self-service options will be available at this time, such as buffets or soda machines. Some local restaurants are using parking lots as extra space for outdoor seating to serve as many as possible.

Retail

Retail stores are now allowed to open! While not all retail locations in Coronado have reopened, many stores have opened with adjusted guidelines. All customers must wear facial coverings in retail stores, and cannot enter if they have any symptoms of COVID-19. Additionally, stores will limit the number of customers inside at one time to maintain 6 feet of distance between customers.
