Coronado Island is surrounded by ocean–so it’s no surprise that we have some of the best fish tacos around. This week we wanted to highlight three of our favorite fish tacos in Coronado! You can’t go wrong getting tacos from any of these restaurants, but if you have the chance, we definitely recommend checking out all three.
The Brigantine
The Brigantine brings locals and tourists together in the name of good food and community. Their focus on making everyone feel like family sets the tone for a great meal.
You can read our full review of the Brigantine here. But we’re not here to talk about their whole menu; we want to focus on their fish tacos.
These aren’t called “The Brig’s famous fish tacos” for nothing. They’re a favorite among locals and tourists alike. These tacos come with cabbage, salsa fresca, cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing and are served on corn tortillas.
Do you prefer your fish tacos to be made with swordfish? The Brig also has swordfish tacos!
Clayton’s Mexican Take-Out
This little take-out window is home to one of the best fish tacos in Coronado. Their fish tacos are served with cabbage, salsa, white sauce, and cheese. Clayton’s has a variety of tacos, burritos, and tortas as well.
It might be a small restaurant, but the flavors are big! But a word to the wise: try to avoid the lunch hour rush if you can.
Coronado Brewing Co.
Coronado Brewing Co. started as a way to bring friends and family together. When it first opened in 1996, Coronado Brewing wanted to be the kind of place where you could get together with your family, enjoy great beer and food, and sit back and relax. Their Coronado location, the Coronado Brewpub, still captures this atmosphere 22 years later.
You have two options for fish tacos at the Coronado Brewpub:
- Grilled wahoo fish tacos
- Grilled wahoo on flour tortillas with cabbage, pico de gallo, guacamole, cojita, and chipotle cream
- Crispy cod fish tacos
- Beer-bettered cod on flour tortillas with cabbage, pico de gallo, guacamole, cojita, and tartar sauce
You can’t go wrong with either of the fish tacos Coronado Brewing offers! Both combine great flavors, and, of course, pair well with one of Coronado Brewing Co.’s award-winning beers.
Have you gotten the fish tacos at any of these restaurants?
Which one was your favorite? We’d love to know!
